I believe the Redskins will win this game. I have Desean Jackson having a big day. I think it will remain close, however, I have the Redskins by 4.
    Cousins will have a good day – 21 / 29 – 264 Yards = 2 TD – 0 INT

    Redskins – 24

    Ravens – 20

    • redskins12thman - Oct 9, 2016 at 9:43 AM

I really hope you are right; I just don’t have confidence in the defense right now. I hope the Redskins play well and win.

    • metalman5150 - Oct 9, 2016 at 10:21 AM

Reports of high winds could complicate the passing the games of both teams.

      • redskins12thman - Oct 9, 2016 at 11:04 AM

        and kicking / punting.

      • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:58 PM

That’s one of the things about the AFC North. It’s either every stadium or 3 of 4 are on the water. So wind is very common for them. They’re used to playing with it but they also find big QBs with big arms. Big Ben, Flacco, Dalton, and the Browns :(. Baltimore has a big andvantage over us in a windy game.

  2. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 9:47 AM

I hope Djax goes off today.
I think Wallace will show for Bmore.
Norman and Smith should be a nice match up.

    • sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 9:47 AM

      Redskins 34-27

    • snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 10:03 AM

Whats crazy is if Jackson keeps it up with his numbers for a few more seasons he will may be in Canton one day.
Only 45 players all time have eclipsed 10,000 career receiving yards. D. Jackson has 8000+ at the moment.
I feel like Jackson will get 150+ yards today. There is no one on the Ravens that can cover him. They need to go to Jackson early and often.

      • sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 10:26 AM

Me too. Jax will burn that Bmore azz as long as Cuz can get the ball nicely out in front of him, in stride. No under-throwing, making him stop to tun around and catch the ball. Need accuracy and he will go off.

      • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM

The problem is the Baltimore pass rush. Suggs is so damn good. I can’t even be mad. But Cousins hasn’t had the time to throw deep.

  3. snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 10:29 AM

Dang, Just hear the bad news about the Wind today. Experts are saying Kirk Cousins does not have a strong enough arm to play in the wind. They are full sh|t. Jackson and Cousins are going to get off today wind or not.

Kirk showed up to the game in Casual Sunday attire. He hardly ever does this and last time he went Casual Sunday he threw 3 TD’s with no picks. Look for Cousins to silent the haters today.

  4. kenlinkins - Oct 9, 2016 at 11:29 AM

I have the Redskins winning today in a close, wild game. Washington 27, Baltimore 24.

    • kenlinkins - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:58 PM

I said it would be wild, Punt return for TD, missed PAT, Fake FG, and INT / pick 6 / Touchback and we still have 2 minutes to play. Anything could happen next.

  5. smotion55 - Oct 9, 2016 at 11:33 AM

The weather will play a big part in this game and they can win if Jones plays in the 1sr quarter like he did in the 4th quarter last week. The wind should help Cousins in that he will not go deep and get rid of the ball on time hopefully. The new safeties can’t play any worse then last week . It might go about 23 -20 Baltimore most likely will win at home.

  6. redskins12thman - Oct 9, 2016 at 11:58 AM

Starting LCB Shareece Wright is inactive for Ravens. I wasn’t expecting this…. need to attack this side.

    • redskins12thman - Oct 9, 2016 at 12:02 PM

Wright has done well with run defense but has been struggling in pass defense. Not sure who will replace Wright: Powers, Young, Davis…

  7. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:08 PM

    How was that not holding?

  8. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:21 PM

How many times today will Compton whiff on tackles? I am sick of hearing how smart he is.

    • brucefan1 - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:43 PM

I dunno but Compton may be the worst Skin ILB that I can remember in a loooong time. He either gets fooled or gets blocked on every play. Almost always comes up short or late.

(And if his strength is calling the defenses, he seems to be failing miserably at THAT too!)

    • brucefan1 - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:14 PM

(Well, might hafta ratchet it back a notch on my Compton rant. I guess as long as he make a COUPLE plays a game he’s not the worst ILB. ;^} )

  9. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:21 PM

Nacho and Dunbar at least tackling

  10. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:22 PM

Nice tackle by Fuller on Smith

  11. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:23 PM

    SEE YOU LATER CROWDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 1:24 PM

    That missed xtra point….

  13. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:20 PM

Scherff getting pushed back by Jernigan on 4th & 1

  14. COSSkinsFan - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:25 PM

Why would you not run for it on 3rd and 1? At worst you don’t get it and can run the clock down. Followed promptly by why go for it on 4th an 1?

    • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:39 PM

I had the same thought. But then again, it’s not like our run game was really getting it done. So I get it. Baltimore was expecting run, we had been doing pretty OK in our short passing game, and they knew they still had one play.

But I probably would have done it the opposite. Not that it really matters. I think we probably had the 1st but Cousins and Garçon weren’t on the same page.

      • COSSkinsFan - Oct 9, 2016 at 7:30 PM

My thought was if you are gonna go for it on 4th down you run on third to see the push the oline gets. Thankfully everything worked out. I’m so glad we have Crowder.

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 10, 2016 at 12:45 AM

Crowder is awesome. He’s quietly becoming one of the best young playmakers in the league. The only thing holding him back from being a super star is the offense he’s on. Too many weapons to spread the ball to. And, frankly, right now Cousins seems to be struggling to get the ball to his playmakers. But he’s an awesome player with or without the notoriety. It doesn’t get much better than getting a player like him in the 4th.

I love Garçon and even though I’m not anbig DJax fan, I like having his big play ability and appreciate what he does for the team. That being said, I’m kind of excited to see what crowder and Doctson can do next year when they’re the top 2 guys. It’s great to have all these weapons (TEs included). If someone gets hurt we have legit replacements. But I do wonder if having so many talented receivers is causing some problems. It sounds silly but logjams have been known to bug people because they don’t get the ball enough. Or cause the QB to try too hard to give everyone love. Or even prevent a guy from really getting into his groove. I don’t honestly think it’s a real big problem but I do wonder if Crowder might break out even more next year when he’s the clear #2 receiver.

    • ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:39 PM

Pass up the short FG into the wind, then try and miss the 56 yarder.

We better tighten up this half, danggit.

  15. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:40 PM

Hey now the defense is coming around and special teams is helping out and all the sudden the offense cant score a TD. It just is so frustrating. After all that the Skins still had a chance for points and maybe lead at the half. But no. And whoever above was talking wind was pretty on time. Though I gotta say this half there have been some wide open Baltimore targets. Matt fumbles and Kirk telegraphs a slow arriving ball…almost a pick 6. Hope the second half there is some kind of sense of urgency. Nacho can tackle, cant cover so at least Bruton should never suit up for the Redskins again. He cant do either.

  16. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:40 PM

Funny Joe Barry falls on the sword for his team and the defense shows up today. Yeah Flacco missed some passes but why do you think that is? Pass rush is at least relevant today.

    • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:53 PM

Isn’t this hat nice to see? There was a stretch there where it looked like all of our defensive success came from up front. Haven’t been able to say that much this year.

      • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:03 PM

Ziggy Hood got a sack today. We have to win this game for Ziggy. The entire defense looks better today. LBs helping and looking good in coverage. DBs helping with these sacks as well. Need a takeaway. Jones appears to be being punished for his fumble. TDDDDD!!!!! GARCON (literally just happened) We’ve also eliminated the bevy of penalties. Need to get Jackson involved though. I felt the D would respond they knew they were putting Barry in a tight spot.

    • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:59 PM

Murphy may not get credit for that sack but he made a great play. Really the whole line did well. But Murphy came inside then owned his blocker. I like that.

      • sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:08 PM

        More Murphy

      • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:15 PM

I also called for more Robert Kelley. Glad to see gruden respects my input. I’m magic Trey!

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:50 PM

Keep doing what you’re doing buddy. Next time maybe tell Gruden to win by 3 TDs so my heart rate can stay down during the game.

        • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 10, 2016 at 11:27 AM

That was on me. I was so focused on trying to get Reed in a rhythm I called D Jax number too late. Going to Kelley was easy after a loss fumble. But trying to keep every receiver happy is something my game plan struggles with. Look at everyone that registered a catch in yesterday’s game. If Kirk can stop throwing INTs and missing open receivers our offense would be crazy. If our defense plays like that against Philly.. maybe we BOTH get what we want now with the Bengals. After a blowout loss to Dallas maybe they respond by beating up on the Browns then falling to us in London… or their wheels can fall off now.

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM

Hey. Getting Reed more involved is fine with me.

I just can’t even believe the Bengals lost like that. I don’t know what to think of them anymore. Philly losing to Detroit makes sense. That’s how those games work for some reason. But Cinci and Dallas at the very least should have been close.

I will say though. I’ve watched Dallas the past two weeks and they get unbelievably lucky calls. That bogus roughing the passer call vs San Fran kept a drive alive and they scored 2 plays later. Without that they’re down 14-0 andSan Fran has the ball and all the momentum. Then a pretty rough PI or holding call on a DB kept Dallas in it early yesterday. Those kinds of penalties just ruin the other teams momentoum.

Does Dallas get these calls out of luck? Or because they’re the most profitbable sports franchise in the world? Or because they have an exciting young QB? All of the above? I’m not usually one to complain about calls too much because they go both ways and usually aren’t as bad as fans think. But I do feel like Dallas gets calls that most teams don’t right now. Maybe Dallas, Greenbay, and NE.

  17. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 2:56 PM

Garvin and Murphy get it done. Good.

    • ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:00 PM

      Good throw, Cousins. Alright!

      • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:03 PM

Good play design too. Keep working the inside to Reed and Crowder and you get single coverage on the outside to Garçon.

  18. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:11 PM

God Redskins lucky on that bone headed pick by Kirk. He makes a great pass to Crowder, makes a sweet pass to Garcon for a TD and then this…..almost twice today he threw 14 points away. He aint all that. Now just be grateful, and dont do that junk anymore. The Ravens are ripe for the picking.

  19. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:12 PM

Does it need a Cousins interception to get the running game going?

    • snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:13 PM

It is crazy how bad Cousins has looked so far this season. I am confused. Wtf.

    • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:16 PM

    • sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:27 PM

I just would like to see one game where everything, D O and ST is playing decent. This starts to have that feel, 3 and outs by the D, ST contributing, O sputters then gains steam, only to have Cuz almost give me a heart attack a couple times. Just once can we not do that?

      • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:36 PM

No. That’s way too much to ask for. I think you’re thinking of the New Englan Patriots ;)

  20. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:17 PM

We need to involve Desean Jackson.

    • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:19 PM

As I say that they almost throw him a TD. Unleash D Jas!

  21. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:20 PM

This MINN game is… Clinic like

  22. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:25 PM

Our team is going to give me a heart attack. Rich, what should I do?

  23. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:29 PM

    There goes dancing Jones again.

  24. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:30 PM

    There you go lezzie

    • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:32 PM

I could really be our OC. They tried to get it to jax again. Don’t force it Kirk. Check it down if it isn’t there.

  25. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:38 PM

Man, these teams are like different sides to the same coin.

  26. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:43 PM

Our long snapper just downed a punt.

  27. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:44 PM

Our LBs are the difference today. Game ball to everyone except Preston

  28. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:45 PM

Is that ten straight 3rd down stops by the D?!

  29. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:46 PM

You can have an illegal block in the back on a punt that yields no return.

  30. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:52 PM

Gruden called that timeout because he was getting clutch INT vibes from Kirk. Settle him down, reinforce where we want to go

  31. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:53 PM

Kirk come here. Come here Kirk *DUMMY SMACK* How you overthrow D Jac I didn’t even know that was possible

  32. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:55 PM

Greg Roper should’ve had a pick!

  33. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:57 PM

That 3rd and out was a killer. All kirk had to do was get a first. He had Djax wide open, Fing false start and now this Flako runs for first…

  34. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 3:58 PM

NO TD NO TD come on D. Can you believe this? D has to save this game….

    • ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:01 PM

Send EMTs to NW D.C. I’m not gonna make it.

  35. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:01 PM

Clock never started on first play after TO

  36. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:02 PM

    Come on 39 sec

  37. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:04 PM

    Perriman no catch

  38. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:08 PM

Flako quit trying to get a call. Nice D

  39. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:10 PM

    I’m still alive, hallelujah!

  40. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:11 PM

Credit where due, Compton takes a lot of grief but he made some big plays this half.

    • brucefan1 - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:20 PM

True. I’m happily eatin a little Compton crow right now. As long as he keeps making a couple plays a game, Will is NOT the worst B&G ILB in a loooong time.

(But I’m kinda grading him on a curve; he still could be better!)

      • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:31 PM

Yeah, that Perry Riley, Keenan Robinson bar is so high.

      • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:40 PM

Compton hasn’t been playing well. You’re right to say that. He did have a better game today and that’s great. But now he needs to make days like today his worse and get even better.

Riley drove me nuts. He was not exactly a great ILB. But he was adequate at times and we let him walk. These guys need to step up and now prove that wasn’t a mistake.

  41. sidepull - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:14 PM

Compton I apologize…..Awesome. Egirls lose. Redskins Win. Redskins Win. Missed opportunities but all good right now.

  42. snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:15 PM

    YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F.UCK YOU RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kirk you look like sh|t. But I gotta give it to Will ‘Straight Outta’ Compton for stepping up today. After getting gashed early the Redskins defense won that game for us. Gotta give it to the D. Well Done. Trent Murphy had another nice showing, Baker looked good.
The Redskins proved they can win without the offense scoring a lot of points. 3 Wins in a row, good job guys.

    • lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:20 PM

Don’t be so hard on Kirk. If he can eliminate these picks he looks a lot better

    • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:35 PM

Damn, spell out eff but not ess. Geez. Who played better Cousins or Jones? Not even close. Cousins at least played well enough to win. Nice to see Kelly get some touches.

      • snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:43 PM

Dont be so hard on Jones. Its not like this is a running team or anything. The blocking stinks a lot of the times.
I bet Jones averages 5.8 yards a carry if he played for Dallas. hehe… im just kiddin

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:42 PM

Are you watching this Dallas game? No seriously. Jones would average 5 yards before contact and probably 6-7 yards per carry. It’s unreal.

I have no idea if Dak is actually a good QB or just OK because he has as much time as he wants to throw the ball. Not too sure about seek either. He has massive holes. Dallas is built the way you should be built to win with our defense. And they actually call the plays like it too.

        • chimps000 - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:51 PM

I thought the oline was great… and the ravens hard to run on.

        • bangkokben - Oct 10, 2016 at 9:45 AM

Kelly is getting carries because Jones isn’t doing the job. Too hard? One or two good runs where the blocking was there, a fumble — that didn’t factor into the final score, and a ton of yards left on the field. Nice to see B.Mitch and Matich make the same points after the game. Trevor even used my words from last week in describing him: “first contact.” He too often goes down on first contact. If he lowers his pads and explodes through the hole, we have no problem. Having said that, Jernigan seemed to get the best of Scherff on key downs but by and large the holes were there.

  43. lezziemcdykerson - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:17 PM

    Fuller had a clutch PD

  44. kenlinkins - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:25 PM

I said it would be a wild one, Punt return for TD, missed PAT, Fake FG, INT-pick 6 turned touchback, and Not one but TWO reviews in the last two minutes before the Redskins pull out a win. One Question, after gaining 27 yards on the last play of the 3rd quarter with a run when your RB has 95 yards on 11 carries and only down by 6 points, why did you run the ball more then just the first two plays of the 4th quarter (i.e. what was Baltimore thinking). I think Baltimore out coached themselves and played right into the Redskins hands. A win is a Win, the Redskins are 3-2 and play a Philly team next week who lost to the Lions today.

    • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:43 PM

Cooley called out Tresman as one of the worst O-coordinators in the league on Thursday. After the first drive, looked like Chris didn’t know what he was talking about but since that drive you can clearly see why he said that.

  45. Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:33 PM

I have a strong feeling that the Redskins will win it 16-10 in the most unwatchable game of the year…

    • ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:45 PM

      Half right.

      I couldn’t stop watching. I am now self-medicating.

  46. Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:34 PM

Dang, the Dallas Underwear Thieves scored like it was nothing. Lose, you damn yokels!

    • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:51 PM

Almost as if Cincinnati didn’t watch film.

      • Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 4:56 PM

I sometimes feel like football would be more fun if no one could watch film. Back to the 1920s!

      • ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:01 PM

I hate the fact that Dallas got a QB this good with a 4th round supplemental pick.

  47. Jlb12300 - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:25 PM

I am very proud to be a redskins fan today. We held on and our defense stepped up with the help of our special teams and bring home a win. We come back home on win streak to go against the Eagles. Let’s take it to them and show Wentz what the NFL is all about. It was not a perfect game by far but we beat the best ranked defense as of week 4. Great job

    • Trey Gregory - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:46 PM

It’s a good point. Baltimore’s defense played well. They’re very good and it disrupted us a bit. But we held on and still got it done. Even with the wind. I think we have at least 4 more points without that win because of the kicking game. Not sure how bad it affected Cousins but it had to make them think twice about throwing deep.

    • Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 6:22 PM

Objectively I agree. But by golly the offense is rotten right now. Fumbles, unnecessary sacks, horrendous INTs we luck out of, a running back who thinks he’s Fred Astaire and coaches who move between incompetence and madness, seemingly at random. I’m glad we won, but this is not a good team right now. They’re fighters though; I’ll give them that.

PS: Not a good game by Cousins. If there’s a referendum on him this year he’s losing.

  48. bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:56 PM

Say what you will about the “how” but this team has won THREE in a row and FIVE in row on the going back to last season. That is getting it done “up here.”

    • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:57 PM

  49. Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 5:57 PM

Records aside, it’s a horse race between the Skins and Giants for worst team in the division. Our defense seems to be moving in the right direction, so just to balance things out our offense has to start stinking instead.

I wonder what it’s like to be a Patriots fan…

    • bangkokben - Oct 9, 2016 at 6:59 PM

      Child please!

      • snyderisanidiot - Oct 9, 2016 at 9:46 PM

Most of these twerps on here are to young to remember but I will never forget the glory days of rocking out in RFK stadium. There was nothing like being a Redskin fan when the real Hogs were on the field.

        • Skulb - Oct 10, 2016 at 12:44 AM

I’m not a twerp and I do remember. I also know that I had hair and rosy cheeks at the time. It’s been 25 years of more or less uninterrupted disappointment now, and it’s starting to grate a little.

        • snyderisanidiot - Oct 10, 2016 at 7:08 PM

          Amen brother. Amen.

Not to be captain obvious but we just have to wait and see how the season plays out. So many things can happen. And there are so many reasons for why Washington and NY are struggling a bit right now but could put it together and improve a lot. Then also for why Dallas and Philly are looking good but could come crashing down. It happens both ways to somebody every single year.

I enjoy discussing this and making predictions as much as anyone. But you never truly know. Baker, Compton, Hood, Phillips, Blackmon, Breeland, RJF, Cousins, Bruton, Smith, Ioannidis, and anyone else you want to add could have all given each other mono in camp. Maybe they all just started getting over it today and will come out playing like all pros next week. Cravens and Fuller could get enough reps by the second half next week to where it all starts clicking and they have defensive rookie of the year type seasons from here on. Maybe Scot signs Laquon McGoan to play nose tackle and he shocks the world by tossing offensive linemen like horses shoes. Maybe Cousins is reading playbook upside down, his wife notices on Tuesday, she flips it over for him, and he turns into the next Joe Montana. I don’t know.

But I do know there’s a lot of football left and these guys are on a 3 game win streak. What the hell are we getting negative for? Save that for after a loss. We have one of the strangest assembled defenses ive ever seen and possibly one of the least talented I’ve ever seen but they’ve found ways to stand tall and basically win the game for us 3 weeks in a row. Don’t they deserve not to be insulted for like a day at least? Breeland will be back and hopefully back to his normal self. Cravens will be back and is only going to get better. Spaight will get reps eventually if Compton doesn’t get it together. History tells us Kerrigan will go on a tear at some point. Dunbar is likely to only get better. Same with Kelley, Jones, Long at center, Ioannidis, Fuller, Scherff/Moses, Crowder (believe it or not he can be better), and Blackmon at safety. Then Doctson, Whitner, Lanier, Evans, and Everett are bound to see the field sooner or later and could be a huge spark. Just let it play out. They could all do terrible and tank too. But that’s why they play the games instead of just poll the Real Redskins comment section.

      Well…. that and money.

The defense looked a lot better, I’ll give you that. After the first drive, when they were their usual selves, they really tightened up and should have a lot of confidence moving forward.
But the offense is pathetic and can not be relied upon to score, no matter the circumstances. Cousins is still looking shaky and needed luck to not throw the ball away with his second pick of the day on an awful throw. And he’s so scared to throw picks that he also takes sacks when he shouldn’t.
We’re actually leaning on a newly reworked defense and teams to win games. Next week I want both parts of the team to perform well. It’s been a while since that happened now.

Yeah. You can probably say almost anyone or any unit on this team isn’t playing well enough and, I may or may not agree, but I won’t think it’s unreasonable. As long as you don’t go too far off the deep end with it. I’m just saying that a lot can change and these thing rarely happen as we expect.

Last year I said we would probably be 7-9 or 8-8 with the best possible outcome of 9 wins. But I came to that conclusion because I thought we would 1) run the ball well, 2) have a top 10 run D, and 3) only a very pedestrian passing game. So I was close to the number of wins, but not really because we easily could have won 10 or 11 and I said the best possible outcome was 9. It just happened completely different than I expected.

So far this year it seems like they’re playing closer to what I expected EXCEPT I thought Cousins would be playing better and our D would be losing games for us. Instead Cousins is struggling (really not THAT bad if you take a step back though) and this rag tag defense is finding ways to win. So what if things start clicking again for Cousins and the D keeps this up?

I usually say things are weird for every team through the first 4 weeks then teams start to settle down and become themselves. Enough tape gets out there to properly gameplan for new players and coaches then everybody is badically who they are by week 6. Last season we saw Atlanta go 5-0, then 6-1, and KC go 1-5 before both teams took a complete turn and finished the season opposite. Sometimes things just start to click and sometimes things fall apart. We don’t know what’s going to happen with this team yet. Or the other teams in this division. But they did just win 3 in a row. Sure, there was a little luck involved. But not completely. And Baltimore had some luck go their way too with a bogus PI that kept a scoring drive alive early, a missed PAT, and a wall of wind stopping a perfect FG in its tracks. Not to mention probably the best player on our team getting injured. So, you know, that’s football. The defense still shut them out for a long time without any flukes. Maybe they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt for now. I still believe Cousins and Jones will wake up at some point. If that happens then we will have one of the most lethal offenses in the league and anything could happen after that.

All true. But the luck we used up when Cousins’ second pick was fumbled into the end zone basically outweighs all the luck the five teams we have played have had between them. I’m not sure if we can rely on quite that much luck on a routine basis.

Well said, a lot of these younger players should get better as their playing time increases. As for the veterans, it only takes 1 or 2 to step up to greatly improve the unit. The sense I get from the defense is that they are gonna give 110% because they are tired of hearing how bad they are. We have suffered some injuries as all teams do, but the next man up has stepped up; Long, Dunbar, Blackmon, Hood, Ihenacho, fuller and we also have new additions. I’m really excited about Whitner and who knows who might walk through that door next. You don’t have to go 12-4 to have a chance. As long as we do well in our division and win a few other games we’ll be OK. As far as our division, everyone is unpredictable. We have already beat the giants and we gave a game away to the Cowboys in a game that shouldn’t have been close. We will find out about the eagles soon. None of our division opponents are like the pats or broncos or steelers, so the division is still ours for the taking. We are 3-2 and have found ways to win. Stats are nice but the W is all that matters. Give me 12 ugly wins and I’d ecstatic. Give me a undefeated postseason of ugly wins and i’d be even more escatic.

    Wow Bungles.

At least we’re not the only team that can’t even come close to stopping Dallas’s run game.

Well folks, it does not look like 9 – 7 will win the division this year.

    • Skulb - Oct 9, 2016 at 6:26 PM

Dallas will flop at some point.

It will be interesting to see if Tony Rhomo gets his job back when the time comes.

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 10, 2016 at 1:10 AM

I think he does. But 2 weeks ago I was positive he would. Now I’m not so sure. I still think he gives them the best chance to win. But there’s chemistry and cohesion to think of. I feel like he’s earned the right to get his job back but the fans don’t care about that. Dak is going to keep looking great until someone can actually pressure him. And good luck with that O-line. I still think Romo gets at least a game to try and stay healthy but fans will be calling for Dak real quick if they lose and if Romo starts throwing picks. Archives
