Under expectations — Particularly offensively, And particularly Cousins. He was fantastic in the red zone and on 3rd downs last year and unlike most fans I was aware of this going into the year. Defenses have done little to affect his struggles here this year. It has mostly been his lack of timing in these situations which hasn’t produced similar results. The lack of scoring has affected the defense but if Cousins becomes consistent in his timing, then MY expectations can be met.

I thought the defense would be better than it is. I thought the Redskins would beat the Cowboys at home and keep the Steelers game a little closer that it was.

As far as play goes below expectations. Didn’t expect Cousins or Run Game to be elite but to show better than they have so far. Didn’t expect much from the D and unfortunately they aren’t meeting the low bar I had set. As far as expectations for wins. Right on the money. Expected losses to Steelers and Giants at their place and wins vs Cowboys and Browns so 2-2 There’s room for improvement but season is far from lost.

    Here’s my take on things….

    2015- ST :3/5. O :3/5. D: 2.5/5. =8.5/15….
    2016- ST: 4/5. O: 3/5. D: 1/5 = 8/15.

So have them regressing. If that defense is not fixed they are going to lose a lot of games. Badly. Teams can move the ball at will against a D with no teeth. Virtually every team has a player in the front 7 whom you have to account for. But not Washington. They have some good players but not great ones. And good players need to play great. So far the good players are playing below average. Right now 8-8 seems like an optimistic projection.

The offence is good but no real improvement. I don’t see them being able to run the ball. Kirk is not elite or franchise. A good D like Pittsburgh showed how easy it is to shut them down. This is just a middle of the pack team playing in a weak division that up to this point has had a favourable schedule.

I hope they prove me wrong.

    Way Below Expectations.

Last Year’s Team Looked Better All Around.

Special teams has surpassed my expectations and I thought Way and Hopkins were great last year. The run game has been about what I expected and the pass game has been disappointing. Red zone efficiency has been a major disappointment. Run d has been very disappointing as well as the pass defense. Our defenses inability to consistently make tackles is troubling and of course third down efficiency on defense has been a nightmare. I think these defensive issues will get better because I just can’t accept that we are a historically bad defense. The defense’s ability to create turnovers has exceeded my expectations. Our coaching staff has unfortunately performed about how I thought they would, though I had hoped for improvement. It seems like we call games not to lose instead of aggressively trying to win, of course that’s probably why our fake punt was so effective. Our level of preparation and numerous penalties, especially presnap has been absolutely mind boggling. Before the season , I thought we would win 10 games and probably would win 11. We are 2-2 and gave a game away. I thought we would be 3-1 now so not a huge difference it’s just disturbing how bad we looked against Pittsburgh although even that game was close until the 4th quarter. If Kirk is a little more accurate and able to hit the big plays and we start to tackle and stop ppl on 3rd and long, I still think we can win 9-10 games. Our margin for error is slim, but that can be said for most teams. We still have lost only one divisional game, we take of the rest and that will go a long way in determining our success. Let’s take the win from the Ravens tomorrow. HTTR!!!! Archives
