Poll: Who is the Redskins’ most indispensable player on defense?

I think Norman is most indispensable because he performs at the highest level and is the most consistent and, besides Breeland, the other secondary positions are a mess — the two safeties and nickel back.

Murphy has been the most pleasant surprise.

    Cravens shows the most potential.

We need more consistently strong play from the rest of the defensive starters; sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. Hopefully, there’s a “breakthrough” at the safeties and nickel back positions where the play has been very poor so far.

Breeland playing very poorly. I agree with the rest.

I agree with Norman. He’s the only all-pro we have in defense. But the whole secondary would play better if we got the pass rush going. Smith, Kerrigan, and Murphy are key. If they can start getting more sacks then our chances to win dramatically improve. 9 out of the top 10 teams in sacks last year made the playoffs.

I cannot believe Norman gets a $48,620 fine for the hit on Shepard. What a crock and then nothing for the hit, actually the spear, on Jones. I hate the vagiants and Mara. Its always something. Watch them try and suspend Norman for his next violation because he a “repeat offender” from last year Vagaints fiasco. Its a load. Life is not fair that is for sure.

We need more indispensable players on D, whomever you pick.

    Reed Doughty.

Norman for sure> wish we had a d-line to go with him and Reed Doughty also.

    Matt Jones
If he is allowed to run he can help win the time of possession game and keep the defense rested and off the field.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. You got it right. The best defensive player can be the RB if he can grind out long drives.

Haha, I believe youre correct, if we were that type of team. But we’re not. At least not with Air Gruden at the helm.

        • Trey Gregory - Oct 1, 2016 at 4:54 AM

I like Gruden too. I think his passing schemes are brilliant. But his lack of committment to the run is getting hard to defend.

      x 3

Pass rushers always take precedence over that of any other position. So while the fans like the shiny new toy Norman, its Kerrigan. Without him, we have no chance at a pass rush or impact player at all. Without Norman, we’ll look like a bad pass defense. Kind of like we do with him. So, its Kerrigan.

Maybe it should be Murphy. He is leading the team in sacks. Archives
