ITS CODE RED! Its code red already and we are only 2 games in. I would say the season is not over if they lose Sunday but I would say all the nails are in the coffin except one. This is a must win.

Rushing only 3 worked very nicely for Pittsburgh against us.

Yeah, because they got their linebackers into the hook zones. Where they’re supposed to be.

I agree that linebackers need to step up; I thought they would’ve done better by now — I over-estimated the contributions they would make.

I think that in addition to Cousins, the Redskins defense had a hand in the losses. The Redskins could’ve scored more and allowed fewer points in their first two games.

I don’t think that hitting Eli Manning is the key because he has one of the quickest releases in the NFL. Having to defend OBJ, Shepard, Cruz and other targets closely is what’s key; the Redskins need to mark up well and therein lies the challenge as ….

The decision to go with inexperienced safeties and nickel has compromised the Redskins defense. Bruton (5.2 to 4.4), Phillips (5.8 to 4.8) and Hall (6.4 to 5.1) are not even playing at a back-up level per Cooley. For sure, Cousins needs to be better but he was better than over half of the defensive starters. The irony is that as much as we fans have complained about the d-line, its the safeties, nickel back and linebacking corps that needs to improve the most; above all else, Cooley felt that Bruton and Phillips need to be replaced by players like Ihenacho and Blackmon or the defense will continue to be as effective as using a sieve to stop water. Hall is a liability too but he didn’t call for a switch there yet.

The Giants have only averaged 18 points per game, but they have only allowed 16 points per game. Will the Redskins hold the Giants to less points? Will the Redskins be able to score more points? Sunday will reveal a lot about Washington.

I can assure you the Giants will score more than 18 points. The question is, will Kirk Cousins be ready to go out and put up 3 or 4 TD’s on the Giants and right now I am leaning torwards no. Archives
