I would change the uniform color….its really Burgundy and yellow…turn the facemask part gold and pants..we need to go to fake turf like the giants so we can have a decent field even when its cold…arie kouandjiou should start at left guard this season and let the others battle it out for the center position..let fans get more access with the team they love…and better marketing for the redskins …they won the division and was never heard from again cowboys won the division they got commercials

I would trade for Mo Wilkerson. Give the Jets a 4th and 5th. They want to trade him badly and he wants to leave just as much. Then I’ll cut P.Riley to make cap space. That pretty much gives us a chance at a super bowl. Team is already loaded, but we need a impact DL player. That’s the last piece.

Assuming then that I’m the owner… and by owner my initials are DS.

First, I’d tape my mouth shut with duck tape and secure by hands in handcuffs.
Second, I’d wade into the Potomac River in front of my house and float into Great Falls.

That would help the team the most, but since my initials are not DS. Still, I’d love to help the Redskins win.

    1. I’d put the team up for sale to the fans as partial owners like the Green Bay Packers to insure that I cannot possibly make single handed moronic decisions.
    2. Hire Brian Mitchell as special assistant to special teams to train returners.
    3. Move the team back to DC
    4. Fix the parking situation
    5. Fix concessions and prices
    6. Put former Redskinette in charge of team PR
    7. Put up a statue to Jack Kent Cooke

No way would I move this team to PC

That’s “The Peoples Republic of DC”.

    If I was the owner

    1. Keep the team in MD since DC wants the name changed and the current mayor won’t even reference them by their name.
    2. Extend the MADTV guys contract. 4 years isn’t really long enough to build a steady contender.
    3. The white sox has great clubs and fan experiences I’d mimic their Sox Pride Club membership which, for $30, allows you access to flash sales on tickets (and they’re like all the time for almost every game, 200 lower level tickets made available at $10) access to family field days, they have the patio which is $40 all you can eat and drink for 2hours before the game until the 3rd inning. That’d be cool to implement.
    4. Upgrade Sean Taylor’s memorial. HE should have a statue… with broooaad wings that take up a lot of space like he did when he roamed that back field.
    5. Make amends with LaVar and drop this silly cease and desist that he isn’t a Redskin great. He’s on national TV now we need all the friends we can get.
    7. Have an adults only smokers section since marijuana is legal in DC (not publicly but public is kind of vague if the venue allows it right?). MJ vendors. Don’t know if that’s allowed per league rules but ehhh revenue. Does hat go under fan experience? 8. Have a contest to find the next Hogettes. I miss those guys, we need to continue that tradition. Good PR too.. Only time I ever saw a National commercial spot featuring the redskins. Visa I believe.
    9. Improve the food for the in seat service, especially for the adults only stone errr I mean smoking section.

I like most of Rich’s edicts. I’m down with all but trading Jackson. I don’t give a rip if Jackson is on the team in 2017 but his impact in his limited time on the field is crazy. Cousins passer rating, Jordan Reed’s YPC, the team’s winning pct; these stats are directly related to Jackson’s presence on the field. The contrast is staggering. Now what could the Redskins get for Jackson? A 3rd round draft choice in 2017? They could conceivably get a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018 if Jackson signs a huge contract with another team after the season.

I do agree that we need to improve the rushing attack while not giving up any more sacks / quarterback pressures. You and others have faith in Spencer Long at Center and Arie Kouandjio at Left Guard, while I have no opinion on how well they will perform relative to other options; I leave those decisions to Bill Callahan, whom I trust.

My questions are: why do you believe in Long and Kouandjio relative to other players?

Also, the team seems to have multiple shades of red / burgundy and yellow / gold. Do you know how many shades of each have been used throughout the franchise history?

I like some of the ideas and some I can’t support.

    – Cousins does not deserve a long term contract until we see more

    – The only number that should be officially retired is the number 21 Sean Taylor

    – I would cut Garcon and keep Jackson. Josh can be much like Garcon and I like the deep threat in Jackson.

    • bangkokben - May 19, 2016 at 12:36 AM

It’s not about “deserve” when it comes to Cousins. It’s about paying the market value and not continuing to let the market set the price. If Cousins plays 90% as well as he did this past year, his price tag doesn’t go down or even stay the same. It goes up.

    • John - May 19, 2016 at 4:24 PM

Some folks have no clue regarding “supply and demand”. The market sets the price. In regards to Cousins, wait and see is not going to happen. The Broncos stood pat on Osweiler and lost him and he was signed to big money by the Texans based on 7 games. That’s playing on a team with a way better defense backing him up.
All of the top shelf QBs are only a few years from falling off a cliff. Consider Manning was 38 and dropped like a stone this past season. Brady is 39, Brees is what 37, Romo is 37, Eli, Big Ben and Rivers all are 34/35. Rodgers is 32 but has plenty of years left.
If your Denver or Dallas, you jump on Cousins if hes available. Put it this way, how many other QBs would you start ahead of Cousins? After being without a decent starting QB so long, does it really make sense to dick around. Team management wants him and he wants to be here. The money is there, its just a matter of agreeing to the length of the contract and guaranteed money.

      • goback2rfk - May 20, 2016 at 1:00 AM

Many people trust Cousins and are totally sold on him. I can see why there are. You and everyone else make very valid and strong arguments.
However, I am not sold on Cousins just yet. And quite frankly if he stinks up the joint next season I could not see how his price would not go down considerably. The real question is if Kirk Cousins alter ego Rex Cousins is still alive.

  8. Lex - May 18, 2016 at 11:33 PM

I agree with about 90%. Black makes everything look good! Uniforms are boring we need a black alternate. Look up Arizona States black alternate its pretty sweet.

    • bangkokben - May 19, 2016 at 12:51 AM

if you’re going to jump in on the black uniform, be first not last. Come up with the next uniform trend. Archives
