Deal makes sense. Sure the team would have liked to lock up Gallette for a few years at the discount price, but of course his financial interest is the opposite.

If he beasts out and then we can’t afford to resign him for 2017, at least we’ll have had a good year out of him and then get a comp pick.

We might be able to fit him in next year. The ‘skins currently have more than $60 million available. Of course, that doesn’t include Cousins, Garcon, Jackson, or Reed.

No the team never wanted to lock him up for years…they want to see him at all the phases of the game before they do that…they don’t know how he take a losing streak they don’t know how he is in the locker room…they want to see him how he act before locking him up long term…if he plays well redskins will give him what the saints gave him but with more protection…. I hear the saints still paying the price for junior gallette contract

Great re-sign, the old way would have been to give big money, this way we get a hungry player for a year. This draft will be interesting to see how GM drafts players considering the Big Money Contracts that are coming up next year. Is receiver and outside rush going to be a priority in the middle rounds.
