Five Redskins numbers of interest

825—After nine games, Alfred Morris now has 825 yards rushing. That puts him ahead of his pace last year when he had 793 yards through nine games. He currently leads the NFL in rushing pending the Sunday games. In 2012 he set the team record with 1,613 yards rushing in a single season.

510—The Redskins are giving up an average of 31.9 points per game, putting them on pace to give up 510 points this season. That would shatter the post-merger team record of 421 yielded in 1998. Only three teams in NFL history have given up over 500 points in a year—the 1966 Giants, the 1981 Baltimore Colts and the 2008 Lions.

21—Washington has 21 sacks through nine games. That represents a 50 percent improvement over 2012, when the had 14 sacks after their ninth game. Last year the team finished with 31 sacks.

0—The Redskins committed no turnovers against the Vikings, their first giveaway-free game of the year. In their first nine games last year they had four games with no turnovers.

57—When Robert Griffin III attempts 57 more passes, which likely will take place between now and around halftime of the 49ers game, he will have attempted more passes than he did all of last year. The fewest passes he has thrown in a game this year is 29. Last year he threw 29 or fewer passes in a game 11 times.

Shanahan: We have to put complete games together

  1. John Karahasan - Nov 9, 2013 at 4:51 PM

Why is Haslett still employed???? He needs to be fired ASAP!!! Let’s see what Raheem Morris can do with the defense for the last 7 games. And, if the redskins still suck after the 7 games (which I believe they will) get rid of the whole coaching staff. We need a new start with the coaching staff. With all the cap space the redskins have for this offseason, I don’t trust the Shanahans to bring in the right players. There is talent here, but we need more… An offensive line that won’t get RG3 killed. Another wide receiver. Some corners would be nice. And, a true pass rushing OLB- Orakpo just isn’t the dominant force we hoped he could be. I hope Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen recognize this, and make a change in the coaching staff

I totally agree John…I thought that Haslett should have been fired after the lost to St Louis in week 2 of last year but instead they gave him an extension….and I think that Kyle needs to go to…he has a lead and instead of pounding the ball and taking the air out he chooses to air it out for 5 yards….What happened to our deep ball at least try to keep them honest. Morris would have over 1,000 yards already if they didn’t screw up the play calling and force the defense out of stacking the box…..they don’t fear the deep ball because 90% of our throws are withing 5-7 yards of the line if not screens!
