Redskins give QB Rowe a look

The Washington Redskins tried out quarterback Jeff Rowe on Tuesday, according to reports.

The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Rowe out of Nevada in the fifth round of the 2007 draft. He spent that year on the roster as the team’s third quarterback. Seattle picked him up off of the Bengals’ practice squad in December of 2008. The Seahawks released Rowe at the end of training camp this year.

The Redskins have just two quarterbacks on their roster in Jason Campbell and Todd Collins. Andre Woodson joined the team on the practice squad just before the start of the season.

Teams frequently try out players that they have no intention of signing immediately in order to build a file of potential future replacements.
