Here is video of Dan Snyder’s “apology” from this afternoon, courtesy of NBC 4 in Washington. I was going to present it without comment but two things struck me as I watched it.
First of all, after 10 years as owner of the highest-profile team in the capital of the free world, you would think that Snyder would get some training as to how to be more comfortable in front of a camera. There are more media consultants in the D. C. area than you can shake a microphone at. He looks no more polished today than he did the day he bought the team. There’s absolutely no reason for that if you care and if Snyder doesn’t he should.
Second, when asked what comes next he said, “The next step is Sunday. It’s really that simple. We hope we can put together a good performance down in Atlanta and start a winning streak”
Wrong answer.
The team owner needs to be focusing on the long term, not next Sunday.

The quote I noticed was the one where he said (paraphrasing here) ” We lost a couple we should have won”. To me in saying “should have” means that he still doesn’t get it. He does not get that his team is not very good, and in reality “shouldn’t have” won the games we have. It appears that he still believes the team is close to being a contender if only we had a better coach or a better play caller, or one more (not so) Free Agent. Maybe by the end of the season, when we are 2-14, he will finally realize the truth…
Naaaah! That’ll never happen.
The public and short term plans should definitely be this Sunday’s game.
It would make no sense whatsoever to publicly announce his long term plans for the team.
