I was around Redskins Park for a few days last week and from many angles you wouldn’t know that there are bombshells exploding around there on a regular basis.
After observing a few days in the life of Redskins Park, the analogy of the duck on a pond came to mind. The visible part, the body of the duck, is tranquil and barely moving while underneath the surface of the water the feet are paddling furiously to move the duck along.
The difference is that this duck is upside down. The visible part is thrashing about furiously with a new calamity breaking virtually every day. But underneath, things look very calm, even normal.
Before practice, players are sitting outside on benches enjoying the nice fall weather, eating lunch and talking shop.
