Snyder: Next year’s first is safe

Dan Snyder, speaking on ESPN 980, said it flat out:

“We will not trade away next year’s No. 1 pick.”

That pick likely would be a necessary element for them to move up from the 13th spot into No. 3 or No. 4. So it would appear that a trade into the top five to take Mark Sanchez is not going to happen.

He volunteered the information in response to Doc Walker’s question about moving up to the fourth pick.

This doesn’t rule out the Skins making a move should Sanchez slide back to #8 but that would be a much less costly deal.

Of course he isn’t going to trade the number one pick next year! Snydernomics (aka mortgaging our future on worthless talent) will use that pick to bring in a “veteran” like Jason Taylor….
