14:55—Another promising drive ends on some odd play calling as Alexander gets a carry up the middle on second and 10. There still is no rhythm to the play calling and so the Browns still are very much in the game. A nice Plackemeier punt, though, has the Browns pinned near the five. A three and out could mean a drive that’s too short to screw up.

14:30—After an Edwards drop and a Lewis run, it’s third and about six. A stop to keep the Browns in the hole would be huge. They need a timeout to think about it as the play clock was about to hit zero.

13:49—They get the stop and Cleveland will be punting from the end zone. After Randle El calls a fair catch, the Redskins have the ball just inside Brown territory. Not quite what I had in mind as a drive too short to screw up, but close. The Redskins can wrap this up with a touchdown.

12:50—All of the runs wide have made an absolute non-factor out of Shaun Rogers. He’s standing with hands on hips after every play now, just a useless tub of goo.

Moss is a waterbug on grass. Another 360 leaves another defender grasping for air and this time he gets into the end zone.

Three plays, 49 yards. Just what the doctor ordered for this offense. Now Suisham has to keep his kickoff in bounds.

12:19—Actually, it would have been better if he had bone out as the kickoff was returned to the 44. There was a nice hit at the 20 but the returner stayed on his feet and almost broke it all the way.

10:00—Braylon Edwards is extremely hard to take down if he catches the ball with a full head of steam. He’s dropped a few with some room to run, but he caught that one for a Cleveland first down near the 30.

7:30—The screen against the blitz worked perfectly and the Browns are knocking on the door at the one.

6:30—London Fletcher makes two nice stops to make it third and goal at the three. If nothing else, this is forcing the Browns to burn more time to score.

5:53—Fourth and goal, Browns going for it. Pass broken up, the Redskins hold. Demetric Evans bats it down.

5:36—Portis coughs up the ball, and Cleveland recovers, but Zorn will challenge whether or not the Brows got the ball back inbounds.

5:36—It looks like a recovery and that’s what the review says. Tough break after a 24-yard run had nearly wrapped it up for the Redskins. It’s up to the defense to do it again. Nothing is coming easy this year, nothing.

It took them a long time, thanks to the defense, but the Browns get it in on fourth and one. The Browns will go for two.

The Redskins will need to kill the clock, perhaps after an onside kick. I’m not sure if I kick away or go onside. The Redskins are thinking onside with the hands team on the field.

2:37—It goes deep to Moss, who gets a nice return out to the 37. One first down will do it.

2:26—It’s third and about six. I think that Zorn will play it safe, but you never know with him.

2:00—He does play it safe, handing off to Portis for two yards. All the Browns need is a field goal to send this one into OT. They’ll have to do it with no timeouts and I recall hearing that Dawson missed his only attempt of over 40 yards this year.

1:28—At the rate the Browns are going, they might get a winning TD rather than a tying field goal. The Skins might need a pick.

0:32—Dawson will try one from 54 yards to tie it.

And he was wide right. The Redskins survive.

Final Score
Redskins 14, Browns 11
