Zorn and Allen leading the cheers

Oct 1, 2008, 11:03 AM EST

Someone on You Tube cobbled together the three cheers “Hip-Hip Hoory!” that Jim Zorn led after the Redskins’ win over Dallas with one that George Allen did. We don’t know if this follows a win over the Cowboys or not, but it doesn’t really matter. Considering that, by all accounts, Zorn had no idea that Allen used to do the three-cheers routine.

Edit: I neglected to give credit to Matt at the official Redskins blog for finding this.

    Old school. I like it.

Since they’re wearing the red jersey in the video, it stands to reason that this was after the Cowboys game.

The Redskins wore red at home under Allen, even when hosting Dallas. The white at home didn’t start until game one of Gibbs I. So, it could have been any home game.

You’re right. Brain lock on my part.

Speaking of uniforms, I kind of hope we don’t use the white-on-whites anymore. I wonder if Zorn will have a preference between white or burgundy jerseys?

I believe that Zorn said that they would switch to the dark jerseys once the weather cooled off. That’s the look I grew up with.
